Sie ist 96 Jahre alt und aktiv. In der Bundesrepublik dürfte Esther Bejarano eine der ältesten aktiven Antifaschist*innen sein. Die Musikerin überlebte das KZ Auschwitz-Birkenau und weitere Konzentrationslager, wanderte nach der Befreiung nach Palästina aus und zog 1960 wieder zurück nach Deutschland. Heute lebt sie in Hamburg, ist Vorsitzende des Auschwitz-Komitees und Ehrenvorsitzende der Vereinigung der Verfolgten des Naziregimes – Bund der Antifaschistinnen und Antifaschisten.
