Christine McWebb is an associate professor of French Studies in the Faculty of Arts, as well as academic program director at Waterloo’s Stratford Campus. As a digital humanist, Dr. McWebb studies the ways in which new technologies and new media impact on traditional humanities disciplines, on human interaction, society, and communication. She also explores digital applications as a means to further studies in the humanities and the social sciences, particularly as new tools and data enable new research questions and perspectives. How long do your research data live? Dutch historian Martijn Kleppe (EUR) explains why he chose to share his big photo database with other researchers, and quantitative data analyst Manfred te Grotenhuis (RU) speaks about the treasures in data archives that are waiting to be discovered by researchers. Both scholars made use of the online archiving system EASY from DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services) in the Netherlands.
