The BUA-MOOC on Digital Art and Culture provides insight into the digital net culture, the aspects of its historical development and its current challenges. MOOC means Massive Open Online Course and is a public learning format, which is accessible via internet for free to whom it may concern.
The BUA-MOOC on Digital Art and Culture shows where Digital Art and Culture can be found on the net and how it actually looks like. It explains how “digital culture” (as art) can be read and learnt and how this engagement in artistic works and interventions help us understand contemporary art.
Theoretical inputs and fundamental techniques like identification and documentation, as well as, applied approaches to preservation will be presented. The MOOC illustrates the important stages in the digital lifecycle, production, reception and preservation, clearly showing how, where and with whom the introduced issues are debated.
