Comment sinformait-on des affaires du temps aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles ? Ce livre explore les multiples dimensions de linformation en étudiant comment les données collectées sur le terrain des guerres ottomanes étaient transmises, reçues et traitées en Italie. Le croisement des sources militaires, administratives et diplomatiques permet de confronter les circuits et les supports de la veille stratégique opérée par les agents et les alliés du Saint-Siège sur la Méditerranée, à une époque où la région fait lobjet dune attention renouvelée. Linformation politique alimente les échanges diplomatiques européens et se nourrit deux ; elle est supposée réduire la part de risque et dincertitude liée aux prises de décision et contribuer à la réactualisation constante des savoirs dÉtat ; ses formats et ses usages infléchissent le rapport des acteurs au temps, à lespace et aux événements. Reconsidérant le rôle joué par les nouveaux médias, tels les Avvisi a mano et les gazettes, au sein de ces processus, lanalyse met en perspective les origines et les effets de linvention de lactualité avec les mutations des pratiques administratives. Examiné à la lumière de la Méditerranée, le gouvernement des nouvelles apparaît alors comme un élément décisif de la première révolution de linformation à lépoque moderne.

Princip in Theresienstadt
Die aktuelle Ausgabe der Mitteilungen der Alfred Klahr Gesellschaft veröffentlicht einen Aufsatz von Hans Hautmann über Gavrilo Princip in Theresienstadt (PDF), der nicht nur die antiserbischen Pogrome nach dem Attentat von 1914, sondern auch das weitere Schicksal der Attentäter behandelt, deren skandalöse Haftbedingungen einem Todesurteil gleichkamen. Am Schluss geht Hautmann auf einen Prozess ein, der 1918 gegen die zwei Wachsoldaten Franz Weichenhein und Rudolf Bednar geführt wurde; diesen wurde vorgeworfen, anlässlich der Überstellung zweier Attentäter in ein anderes Gefängnis mit letzteren fraternisiert zu haben. Hier nur eine kleine Korrektur: Hautmann zitiert in diesem Zusammenhang einen Artikel aus der Arbeiter-Zeitung vom 8.5.1918; richtig wäre der 4.5.1918.
