Christine McWebb is an associate professor of French Studies in the Faculty of Arts, as well as academic program director at Waterloo’s Stratford Campus. As a digital humanist, Dr. McWebb studies the ways in which new technologies and new media impact on traditional humanities disciplines, on human interaction, society, and communication. She also explores digital applications as a means to further studies in the humanities and the social sciences, particularly as new tools and data enable new research questions and perspectives. DARIAH-DE – Digitale Forschungsinfrastruktur für die Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften ist der deutsche Beitrag zum europäischen Forschungsverbund „DARIAH-EU – Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities“. DARIAH-DE entwickelt eine digitale Forschungsinfrastruktur für Werkzeuge und Forschungsdaten und unterstützt die mit digitalen Ressourcen und Methoden arbeitenden Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften in den Digital Humanities (DH).
Der DARIAH-DE DH Award 2017 zeichnet innovative Forschungsbeiträge von Studierenden und NachwuchswissenschaftlerInnen der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften, der Informatik und den Informationswissenschaften aus, die mit digitalen Ressourcen und/oder digitalen Methoden arbeiten.
Die insgesamt drei Preise im Wert von je 600 Euro werden am 26./27.04.2017 im Rahmen der DARIAH-EU Jahreskonferenz in Berlin verliehen. Im Rahmen der Tagung haben die PreisträgerInnen die Möglichkeit, ihre Arbeit einem breiten europäischen Fachpublikum vorzustellen.
