I. Das „Wir“ des marktwirtschaftlichen Handelns: Markt und Kooperation
Die Wirklichkeit der Freiheit setzt nach Honneth voraus, dass sich Subjekte „in wechselseitiger Anerkennung derart begegnen, dass sie Ihre Handlungsvollzüge jeweils als Erfüllungsbedingung der Handlungsziele des Gegenübers begreifen können“ (222). Im vorangehenden Abschnitt hatte Honneth die Angemessenheit eines solchen Freiheitsbegriffs für persönliche Beziehungen aufgezeigt. Marktbeziehungen stellen nun das zweite „relationale Handlungssystem“ dar, in dem Honneth ein „Wir“ ausmacht, in dem sich Formen sozialer Freiheit zeigen.

This paper investigates the development of a key administrative technique to get hold of the territory: the set-up of street numbers and the implementation of population statistics in the 18th century Habsburg Monarchy. The focus will be put on the difficulties the administrative personel was confronted with when implementing this registration process and the rationales behind the resistance to it.
