Workshop at University of Trier: Using and Developing Software for Keyness Analysis

Have you read about keyness measures and keyword analysis, but still have open questions? Do you know there are multiple keyness measures, but wonder which one is best for your research question? Or do you have experience using keyness, but wonder why different tools implement different measures? Then our workshop on „Using and Developing Software for Keyness Analysis“ might be just the right event for you, as it will address these and many other related questions.“

The workshop will take place on February 27 (public event) and February 28 (closed event). The participation is free of charge and is possible both on-site and online. It is organized within the scope of the project Zeta and Company conducted at Trier University, Germany and funded by the DFG in the framework of the Priority Programme Computational Literary Studies.

The goal of this workshop is to foster exchange among tool developers and scholars from Computational Linguistics and Computational Literary Studies.

An der Universität Rostock, Philosophische Fakultät, Institut für Germanistik, Juniorprofessur für Digital Humanities besetzen wir vorbehaltlich der Mittelzuweisung frühestens zum 01.04.2023 befristet für die Dauer des Projektes „Computational Approaches to Narrative Space in 19th and 20th Century Novels“ (CANSpiN) bis 31.03.2026 die folgende Stelle:

Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (m/w/d)
EG 13 TV-L, Teilzeitbeschäftigung, 26 Stunden/Woche, befristet, Projektstelle

Aufgabengebiet

  • Forschen auf dem Gebiet der Digital Humanities, insbesondere der Computational Literary Studies mit dem Ziel der wissenschaftlichen Qualifizierung (Promotion)
  • Mitarbeit in dem Projekt „Computational Approaches to Narrative Space in 19th and 20th Century Novels“ (CANSpiN), das im Rahmen des DFG-Schwerpunktprogramms „Computational Literary Studies“ (CLS) durchgeführt werden wird. Das DFG-geförderte Forschungsprojekt widmet sich der umfassenden quantitativen Analyse deutschsprachiger und hispanoamerikanischer Romane auf der Basis von TEI-XML-ausgezeichneten Texten mit dem Ziel der computergestützten Erkennung von Raumentitäten und der Analyse narrativen Raums. Aufgaben sind insbesondere:
    • Zusammenstellung und Aufbereitung von literarischen Textkorpora zu deutsch- und spanischsprachigen Romanen des 19.
